Yoga & Acupuncture: A Transformative Fall Equinox Celebration

  • Harmonist Sanctuary 4633 East Colfax Avenue Denver, CO, 80220 United States (map)

This yoga & acupuncture worksop is a part of our Wheel of the Year Yoga & Acupuncture Series. The Wheel of the Year celebrates the interwoven energies of the Moon and Sun cycles as we move through the seasons. Together the Wheel of the Year is made up of the 4 Solar Days and the 4 Fire Festivals - the Spring Equinox, Beltane, the Summer Solstice, Lamas, the Fall Equinox, Samhain, and the Winter Solstice. In this series, we use yoga & acupuncture to tap into these natural rhythms in order to bring these energies into our own beings.

The Fall Equinox, or Mabon, is one of the 4 ancient Solar Days and marks the transition from summer to autumn.

As one of the equinoxes, Mabon is a time when the sun and moon are in harmony with one another and day and night are in equilibrium. Just like its counterpart in the spring, the Fall Equinox is a time of transformation and transition. Traditionally, the Fall Equinox is associated with the Great Harvest season and signifies the movement from outward expression to inward reflection. It is the time to reap our harvests, reflect upon what we have been able to grow over the past season, and initiate nutritive storage for the upcoming seasons. Energetically, this can be a very powerful time to reflect upon ourselves and begin to let go of anything that is no longer serving us. Just as the trees begin their process of letting go of their leaves, we too are entering into an energetic season of letting go.

Our workshop will focus on attuning to the transitional energy of this season as we ground into our bodies and create space for reflection and release. We will begin our workshop with meditation and intention setting as we settle into this autumnal energy. Our yoga flow will focus on grounding into our bodies, receiving the energy of our harvests, and allowing for release and letting go. We will engage in an invigorating, yet approachable-for-all, hatha yoga practice to welcome in this transition and period of reflection . We will follow our body movement practice with community-style acupuncture to help integrate our bodies and minds as they align with the supportive, grounding, transformative energy of the Fall Equinox.
