Nutrition

Food is medicine.

Chinese medicine principles are based on the idea of prevention and balance. Alongside acupuncture and herbal medicine, nutrition is an integral part of preventing illness.

The body wants to be in health - every function within the body is attempting to bring the body back into equilibrium. Because we consume food everyday, nutrition is one of the most effective ways to aid the body’s ability to maintain balance. On the other hand, when we consume things that our bodies identify as poisonous, it can also be detrimental for our health. Discovering what we are lacking or overindulging in can be an extremely effective way to prevent illness and promote optimal health.

Through both the western and eastern medical lenses, I create nutrition plans to integrate your body’s natural ability to heal itself. These plans are included in acupuncture treatments as needed, as well as in herbal medicine consultations.

The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food.
